Transforming Torrington Square and Byng Place into a more people-oriented venue
Located in vibrant Bloomsbury, amidst a University area, near the Senate House, University College Hospital and the British Museum, the site is mainly used as a thoroughfare.
The site, marked out in blue, is located near other garden squares. Therefore, apart from having greenery in the site, the site has potential to become an urban park.
The two adjacent plots - Torrington Square and Byng Place are combined as the site for the proposal.
Showing the boundaries of the site and what it looks like to apporach it.
The proposal is to include a series of pavilions in this area. The neighbourhood of Bloomsbury is wealthy and has residents of all ages, from working professionals, families and students.

This project involving a transformation focusses on the sites of Torrington Square and Byng Place, Bloomsbury, London. It is a redevelopment plan to make the place more people-oriented and encourage people to linger and make full use of the place. Located in a student quarter with various Universities and their student halls of residences, the site has potential to become a diverse, cultural and dynamic locale where people, both local or visitors to the neighbourhood, come together.
